How long can I use EG SIM card?

Validity period of EG SIM card is for 30 days. If you want to use it more than 30 days, please select the ‘Long-term use’ from the option before purchasing.

How can I make international calls?

1) How to make international calls:
① 00345 + Nation Code + Telephone number + Press Call

How or where can I recharge?

1) You can recharge it at Convenience stores such as GS25.(Please refer to the manual)
2) If you can’t recharge at GS25, please transfer money to account below.

※ After wire transfer, please send us email at linkorea@linkorea.co.kr including remittor’s name, remittance, phone number which you want to recharge.

We’ll take care of it as soon as possible after receiving the email, even if the real time process is not available. (You’ll be charged for remittance)

If a customer does not visit the counter after making a reservation, will there be a cancellation fee?

There are no cancellation fees. When cancelling a reservation, however, please contact linkkorea@linkkorea.co.kr

What type of devices can be used?

1) K-SIM(Korea SIM card)
① Devices that support WCDMA method (Mobile phones / Tablet PCs)
② Devices with country lock disabled.(SIM-free devices)
Disabling of country lock can be checked and performed through the local service provider currently being used.
(To identify an unlocked phone : http://www.wikihow.com/Find-Out-if-Your-Phone-Is-Unlocked)

2) K-WIFI(Korea WiFi router)
① Devices that enable connection to Internet, such as mobile phones, tablet PCs and laptop computers.

What kind of payment rates do you have?

1) Basic Payment Rate

Basic rate : 0 KRW
Local rate : 4 KRW/sec
SMS : 20 KRW/sent
LMS : 30 KRW/sent
MMS : 200 KRW/sent
(10% V.A.T excluded)

2) For the Long-term use

Basic rate : 300 KRW/day
Local rate : 1.5 KRW/sec
SMS : 20 KRW/sent
LMS : 30 KRW/sent
MMS : 200 KRW/sent
(10% V.A.T excluded)

※ If you select the payment rate for Long term use, payment rate will be changed within 3 days after collecting a SIM card

Are there any restrictions for use in certain areas or regions?

1) K-SIM(Korea SIM card)
① It is available for use at the fastest speed anywhere in Korea.
2) K-WIFI(Korea Wi-Fi router)
① It may not be available for use in the countryside. Please refer to the product precautions prior to making a reservation.

Up to how many SIM card can I buy?

Each person may rent maximum 5 devices.

How can I download SIM card APP?

1) For Android phone:
Play Store > Search EG SIM CARD > Download
2) For iPhone:
App Store > Search EG SIM CARD > Download

Is it available for Koreans to use?

1) K-SIM(Korea SIM card)
① For those with Korean passports, a proof of residence abroad is required.(local driver’s license, etc.)
2) K-WIFI(Korea WiFi router)
① Koreans may use it, too.

After a rental is completed, will a confirmation email be sent?

A confirmation email will be sent to you within 10 minutes after a reservation is made, and you must print and bring the reservation confirmation document to us when you come into Korea. If a confirmation email has not been sent for a reservation you have made, please contact linkkorea@linkkorea.co.kr

Can I demand refund for leftover balance?

Because it is a prepaid service, we can not get you money back for the leftover balance. Please order your sim card according to your travel plan.

Can a device only be reserved up to 2 days prior to the rental?

If there are devices in stock, it is possible to rent one within 2 days prior to the rental however, the “LINKKOREA” benefits do not apply for such reservations. For those who are in an urgent need of a router, please contact linkkorea@linkkorea.co.kr

How long does it take to complete refund process?

1) Before collecting a Sim card : Refund process takes 2~3 days.
2) After collecting a Sim card : Refund process takes 15~30 days.

Who activates a device?

Our representative will activate the device at the counter and hand it over to the customer once a test is completed.

If I sign up for long-term and it doesn’t work, will I get a refund?

Your long-term use request received a negative as a matter of agency , we will refund you your long-term use fee in full($10).

Is there a limit on usage of data or calling?

1) K-SIM(Korea SIM card)
① Data usage is unlimited. Although there is also no limit on calling, the usage fee for calling will be charged when the device is returned.
2) K-WIFI(Korea Wi-Fi router)
① Data usage is unlimited.

What are the necessary items to bring when picking up a device?

Printed confirmation of purchase and passport are required.

Are there any restrictions for use on certain types of devices?

1) K-SIM(Korea SIM card)
① Only mobile phones and tablet PCs are available for use. If the SIM is switched to a different device in the midst of a rental, it may not work properly.
2) K-WIFI(Korea Wi-Fi router)
Devices that enable connection to Internet, such as cell phones, tablet PCs and laptop computers.

Does a purchase confirmation have to be printed out?

If it can not be printed, you can show it on your mobile phone screen instead. If any of the aforementioned options are not possible, please provide our representative at the counter with your name used to make the purchase and inform that you have reserved from “EG SIM Card”.

Does it allow multiple connections simultaneously?

1) K-SIM(Korea SIM card)
① You can use hotspot.
2) K-WIFI(Korea Wi-Fi router)
① Up to 7 devices can be connected simultaneously for each router. (maximum number of users allowed to connect simultaneously is different from one router type to another so please check the product upon receipt)

What if a customer visits a counter after its operating hours?

You can collect it on the following day.

What if the pick-up point is different from the return location?

If the deposit has been paid with a credit card, the locations for pick-up and return may be different. If the deposit has been paid in cash, however, the locations must be the same in order to process the return.

After collecting a sim card, do I need to activate it by myself?

You don’t need to activate it by yourself. It’ll be handed to you after activation. You can use it as soon as collecting it.

How can the return date be changed?

If the return date is to be changed during a rental, contact linkkorea@linkkorea.co.kr by 1 PM
of the day before the original return date.
If it is returned earlier than originally planned, you do not have to contact us.

After collecting, it is not available even after I insert it into my phone. What should I do?

1) How to use
① Settings → Airplane Mode OFF → Wi-Fi OFF → Data network settings ON → Turn the power on and off four to five times
2) If it doesn’t work after following the above, please contact us at 1899-6120

What are the necessary items to bring when picking up a device?

Printed confirmation of reservation, passport and credit card are required.
※ Cards without embossed digits or debit cards cannot be used.
※ The credit card used must be under your name and currently have more than 6 months left until the expiration date. The card of your spouse can also be used.

What happens for failure to return, loss or damage of the device?

1) K-SIM(Korea SIM Card)
① A fee for the loss of the sim card (10,000 KRW) and the usage fee will be charged.
2) K-WIFI(Korea WiFi router)
① Fees for the router (160,000 KRW), charger (10,000 KRW), pouch (10,000 KRW) and auxiliary battery (50,000 KRW) will be charged.

After collecting a sim card, is it possible to get a refund?

1) After collecting a SIM card, you can not get a refund.
2) If you didn’t use it, you can get a refund except SIM card fee.
① Dual(General /Micro) : 10,000 KRW(10 USD)
② Nano : 15,000 KRW(15 USD)

Does a reservation confirmation have to be printed out?

If it can not be printed, you can show it on your mobile phone screen instead. If any of the aforementioned options are not possible, please provide our representative at the counter with your name used to make the reservation and inform that you have reserved from “Link Korea”.

Can the device be returned by someone other than the initial renter?

Another person representing the renter may return the device.

How can I make international calls?

How to make international calls:
① 005 + Nation Code + Telephone number + Press Call

What if a customer visits a counter after its operating hours?

Picking up a device after the counter’s hours of operation is not possible. If you do not claim it after making a reservation, it is automatically cancelled.
※ If you cannot come to claim your device on the day of pick-up but rather the day after, please contact linkkorea@linkkorea.co.kr

How long does a return take?

A return normally takes about 5 to 15 minutes. Please visit us with a sufficient amount of time.

I can make/receive phone calls and send/receive text messages, but the internet does not work. What shoud I do?

Even if there is no problem with phone calls & text messages, if you cannot access to Internet, it usually means APN setting problem.
In that case, you should set up New APN as below.

① How to set up New APN for ANDROID Phones
Please go to Menu>Settings>Wireless & networks>Mobile networks>Access Point Names>New APN
※ APN information for EG SIM card:
– Access point name: KT
– APN: alwayson.ktfwing.com
– MMSC : http://mmsc.ktfwing.com:9082
– MCC: 450
– MNC: 08
After saving the new APN, please restart your phone 3-4 times with wifi off.

② How to set up New APN for IOS Phones
(If wifi is available), please run “Safari” and access to “http://www.unlockit.co.nz”
After access, please press [Create APN], and then select a mobile carrier as “KT”
And press [Create APN] button, then you will see “Installation of Profile”
Please install it and then reboot your device and run apps.

What if a customer does not have a credit card?

1) K-SIM(Korea SIM card)
① The deposit may be paid in cash of 100,000 KRW or $100.
2) K-WIFI(Korea Wi-Fi router)
① The router is 200,000 KRW and auxiliary battery is 50,000 KRW.

Will my phone work with SIM card?

1) You are certainly able to use SIM card with your phone if your phone is applicable to below requirements :
① Compatibility
– Most 3G wireless providers in Korea use the UMTS/HSDPA frequency of 2100 MHz, make sure your phone supports this frequency in order to enjoy full 3G speed.
(Device lookup from Google , Verifying support in the parts network in the device specifications for 3G 2,100 Mhz)
② Unlocked phone
– You must have an unlocked phone to use SIM card in South Korea. If your phone is locked, you will not be able to use our service. To find out the status, please contact your mobile provider.(To identify an unlocked phone : http://www.wikihow.com/Find-Out-if-Your-Phone-Is-Unlocked)

Up to how many SIM card can I buy?

There is no limitation in quantity.

Is it available for Koreans to use?

Can not to upload a passport Korea

Do I receive a confirmation mail after I ordered SIM card online?

A confirmation email will be sent to you within 10 minutes after a purchase is made, and you must print and bring the purchase confirmation document to us when you come into Korea. If a confirmation email has not been sent for a purchase you have made, please contact linkkorea@linkkorea.co.kr

What is SIM card types?

The type of SIM you need depends on your mobile phone model.
Dimensions of each SIM card are listed below :
– General SIM : 15mm x 10mm
– Micro SIM : 10mm x 10mm(Samsung Galaxy S4, Note 3 /iPhone4 etc.)
– Nano SIM : 5mm x 5mm (iPhone5/iPhone5S/iPhone5C/iPhone6/iPhone6+ etc.)

It Purchase then can be Available refund?

Before you pick up we can refund 100%.

Are there any restrictions on use of data and voice?

You will be available to use the amount of charge and read the manual to learn the SIM card commodity points(data and voice rates).

Are there any restrictions on use areas?

You can use it from South Korea everywhere.

Are there any restrictions on using the device?

Compatible cell phone is available , but There is a possibility don’t wokring Tablet PC

Can I use hotspot after the data charging?

There is no limit on the use of a hotspot.
